The Scavenger Hunt Fundraiser Rules and Requirements
for “Picture It! – For Joshua House!”

The intention of the Game is to get out of the house and drive around the NEK. As you are enjoying the scenery, May 1 to May 15, you will be taking pictures of businesses out on the roads you travel. Some businesses have storefronts and others have signs. The goal is to get a picture of every one of them (or as many as possible!). To do that you will need to do a lot of driving!
OR have a Team of people, to help you, as individuals or small groups (socially distanced!). You (and your Team) will have 3 Saturdays, 2 Sundays, 10 weekdays to get as many pictures as possible from every town and city in Orleans, Caledonia, and Essex counties. The Team with the most individual pictures will win the 1st Place Prize of $500 cash. 2nd Place wins $250 and 3rd Place $100. Incentive prizes will be provided along the way as the pictures come in. As this is a fundraiser, everyone taking pictures needs to be registered on the Joshua House site (Joshuahousenek.com) and pay $10.00. All funds raised through this Scavenger Hunt go to Joshua House Inc. to help people remain sustainable and avoid ending up homeless in the NEK. Team Registration begins April 25, 2021 1. Each Team must have a point person (Team Captain). 2. Team members will be registered by the Team Captain. 3. Each Team Member will send (via email) captured pictures to the Captain with the complete business name and the towns in which they are located. 4. Team members do not have to ride together. Encouraging friends from different places, different towns, different counties to be Team members, is recommended (covering more area). Teams can only submit 1 picture of each business. Each picture counts as 1 point. Pictures of Sponsoring businesses count as 5 points. Teams that capture a minimum of 3 pictures from Each Town/City in Essex, Caledonia and Orleans county will receive 20 Bonus points! Pictures submitted by the Team Captains will be posted on the Joshua House Inc. FB page Joshua House NEK VT daily or when submitted. Winners will be announced May 22, 2021. Captain responsibilities 1. Register at Joshuahousenek.com with your name, email, phone (best contact – cell/landline) 2. Collect $10 from each person to be registered and submit to Joshua House Inc. (pay online) or mail. 3. Register each Team member under Team name. 4. Ensure that each member submits a clear photo of the business with the business name and town/city where taken. 5. Review pictures to remove duplicates prior to submitting. 6. Gather up the pictures at different intervals of your choosing each week, and submit to the following email address: pictureit4joshuahouse@gmail.com 7. The complete name of the business must be visible in the picture to count as a point. 8. When submitting the pictures, in the subject line indicate: Team Name and the number of pictures being submitted. In the email, list all that is being submitted: name of businesses, and town/city where they are located. Aggressive/Assertive behavior is not encouraged or permitted. The purpose of this event is fun, not friction. Limitation of Liability By participating in “Picture It! – For Joshua House!” A Scavenger Hunt Fundraiser, you accept all risks and consequences of entry and participation, and agree to release, indemnify and hold Joshua House Inc., and their respective officers, directors, affiliates, employees, contractors, subsidiaries, agents and partners, harmless from any and all consequences, liability, losses, damages (including without limitation, consequential, punitive, incidental, special or increased damages and those related to personal injury, death or damage to property) and costs and expenses, of any kind, under any legal theory, arising from or related to this Fundraiser, including but limited to your entry and participation in this Event, the acceptance and/or use (or misuse) of any prize, printing errors, and (to the extent not prohibited by law) any claims based upon rights of publicity and invasion of privacy. Neither Joshua House Inc. nor any of the Contest Entities assumes any responsibility to you or any third party for (i) errors that may occur in the transmission of your entry, (ii) lost or intercepted entries, or (iii) fraud or misconduct on the part of any entrant. IN NO EVENT SHALL JOSHUA HOUSE INC. BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, and CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHER INDIRECT DAMAGES OR LOST PROFITS arising out of or in connection with this Event.
